Solemn function at Homfraygunj ‘Balidan Vedi’

Port Blair, Jan 25: A solemn function has been arranged to pay floral tribute and to conduct all religious mass prayer at ‘Balidan Vedi’ the State Martyrs Memorial Homfraygunj on 30th January, 2010 at 8 am on the occasion of 66th Martyrdom anniversary of 44 martyrs of the Indian Independence League, Andaman Branch. The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District, Shri S. N. Jha will be the chief guest on the occasion.
This day is also observed as Martyrs Day and hence rich tribute will also be paid to the Father of the Nation, Bapuji and many known and unknown martyrs /patriots of freedom struggle movement. Special bus will leave with participants from Clock Tower at 7 am on 30th January 2010 for Homfraygunj and back.
