More than 800 islands’ youth to be trained in travel, tourism and hospitality free of cost PDF Print E-mail

Port Blair, Feb 1: Keeping in view the urgent need to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of skilled manpower to manage different fields of operations in Travel, Tourism and hospitality, more than 800 local youth of these islands will be provided free of cost training in the year 2010. The training will be based on Modular Employable Scheme under Skills Development Initiative Scheme (SDIS) of Director General of Employment & Training, Government of India. The Nodal Agency to these islands is Industrial Training Institute, Dollygunj. The scheme also aims at up grading the skills of the employees in the industry without any qualification in their chosen field of activity. Students of educational institutions and others can undergo these training courses, free of cost.
