Driver Killed In Bus Accident PDF Print E-mail

Port Blair, March 2: In a road accident which took place near Light House cinema, a private bus nose dived into a drain at the Ambedkar auditorium here on Feb 27, 2010 at 1030 hrs. The driver of the bus was declared brought dead at the hospital while the cleaner has been admitted to the hospital with injuries.
 
According to police, the incident occurred when a long distance (ATR route) bus of Anu Travels was on a test-drive and was coming down from Delanipur after completing minor repairs and the driver trying to negotiate the curve at the Light House Traffic Point lost control and rammed into the railings of the pedestrian passage near the auditorium. A case has been registered under relevant section and further investigation into the incident is in progress, police sources added.
