Port Blair, March 7: Under National Programme for control of blindness, 3 day orientation training for Medical Officers on ‘community ophthalmology’ was organized at Eye Section, GB Pant Hospital, Port Blair from Mar 4 to 6, 2010.
 
Dr. Anita Shah, Ophthalmology cum Deputy Director (NPCB) imparted training in detail about eye care management with the practical demonstration of various eye diseases found in the community. They also imparted training on the IEC under National Programme for control of blindness to implement under their jurisdiction. The course materials on various eye diseases distributed to the participants. Altogether 5 Medical Officers of Ayush from PHC’s/ CHC’s of South Andaman District participated in the training.
