Multi-Specialty Medical Camp Held At Campbell Bay

Port Blair, March 9: A multi-specialty medical camp was organised by INHS Dhanvantari as a part of the Andaman and Nicobar Command’s Community Outreach Programme to reach out to the civilian population of these islands. The camp was held from 03 Mar to 04 Mar 2010 at the Primary Health Centre in Campbell Bay. The camp provided the services of Paediatrician & ENT Specialist. A total of 250 patients were seen over two days and some of them were selected for further investigations and management. The general public was strongly encouraged to make full use of the facilities provided.
The Andaman and Nicobar Command is charged not only with the defence of these remote islands but also the welfare and well being of its inhabitants. The ANC has been playing a yeoman role since its inception in all welfare activities in the A & N Islands. INHS Dhanvantari has been at the forefront of all the welfare and health promotional activities of the Andaman and Nicobar Command. The hospital has been regularly conducting many such screening camps, followed by operative surgical camps in addition to blood donation camps and cancer detection camps. Some of the recently concluded camps include the multi-specialty screening camps held at Kamorta Island, Neil Island, Wandoor & Shoal Bay and cancer detection camp held at INHS Dhanvantari.
