Port Blair, March 9: The Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray in a letter to the Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi has requested for a Jawahar Navodayha Vidyalaya (JNV) to be permanently established at Chouldhari village in South Andaman District. The Member of Parliament explained that considering the population of South Andaman District there is an urgent need for establishing a JNV especially to cater to the students of rural and semi-urban households.
“In fact Navodaya Vidyalaya has existed at the village of Chouldhari in 1996 but later it was shifted to Panchavati in N&M Andaman District. Moreover there is plan to set up a temporary Navodaya Vidyalaya at Chuldhari in 2010-2011”, Bishnu explained. The MP therefore requested the Secretary, Ministry of HRD to consider setting up a permanent JNV instead of a temporary one for the benefit of the rural populace of South Andaman.
