14th Cycle Of Indo-Thai Corpat, Thai Delegation to Visit

Port Blair, April 22: Thailand Naval Ship HTMS Kamronsin and a Royal Thailand Navy Aircraft will visit Port Blair from 23rd Apr to 26th Apr 12, to participate in the closing ceremony of 14th Cycle of the India - Thailand Coordinated Patrol (INDO-THAI CORPAT), a biannual event. The present cycle commenced on 18th Apr 12 in the Andaman Sea. Indian Naval Ship (INS) Batti Malv of ANC will escort the Thai ship into Port Blair after conducting joint patrolling in the Andaman Sea. 

Vice Admiral Taratorn Kajitswan, Commander 3rd Naval Area will visit Port Blair for the Closing Ceremony. During the visit the Admiral will be briefed about the Andaman & Nicobar Islands at the Headquarters Andaman & Nicobar Command.

The first such CORPAT with the Royal Thailand Navy was held in 2006. Series of Coordinated Patrols with the Thai Navy have resulted in enhanced mutual confidence level between the two Navies in particular and Defence Forces in general.

During the stay at Port Blair, the officers and crew of the Thailand ship will interact professionally as well as socially with personal of Andaman & Nicobar Command. In addition, they will also avail the opportunity of local sight-seeing and friendly sports and games.
